About us
Since its creation in 1890 by Pedro Piazza, and then its acquisition by the Lemos family, the AZ winery has been recognized for the quality of its wines. Currently this legacy is maintained thanks to the efforts of the more than 30 people who work in the winery. Those in charge of directing the production of wines are the winemaker Juan Zapata and the agronomist Dante Bonavena, who have been in charge of the winery for more than 20 years.
Winemaker
Juan Zapata graduated with a degree in enology in 1990 at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo. Since then he has made more than 25 grape harvests at the Winery. In order to gain experience he has made numerous trips and grape harvests in France, Spain and the United States. Juan works with passion and enthusiasm.
Agronomic Engineer
The agronomist Dante Bonavena, graduated with honors from the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo and who later completed a Master's Degree in Environmental Management, has been in charge of managing the vines since 2002. Dante is recognized in Mendoza as well as in the rest of the world for his work.
